Holding The Vision
One of the reasons building and owning your business is so challenging is because of how personal it is. It’s your baby. You grow it from its infancy and watch it transform before your eyes into a fully-fledged adult. And all we want as entrepreneurs is for our businesses to be successful (however you define that!)
We want the world to see what we’ve created. We want the money to flow. We want the freedoms that come with being your own boss.
And generally, we want it instantly.
But I’ve got some news for you.
That instant, overnight success?
It’s not a thing. Period.
It just doesn’t exist.
Think of every single, successful business you know of. I can guarantee you, whoever started that business did some hard yards at the beginning. And if they didn’t, they are the exception- not the rule.
You’re not going to just blink and have everything you want. Business doesn’t work that way.
And I get it.
While you’re doing those 16 hour days, missing out on events or working weekends, it can be hard to keep the vision.
So here is today’s reminder for you:
The key to finding that success you’re dreaming of is staying the course.
To use a cliché: Rome wasn’t built in a day.
And this just doesn’t apply to entrepreneurs. It applies to anyone who starting out in a new career or anything new.
So how do we keep the vision and continue chipping away? Here’s my top three tips!
1. Be consistent. Continue showing up for yourself, your clients, your business and your team. Make those connections with your audience.
2. Take imperfect action every day. you might fall flat on your face. Just go it. Take dedicated action. It can be wildly imperfect.
3. Hold the vision. The tough times are hard. The lows are VERY low. But through the obstacles and the challenges, you need to remain dedicated.
Keep the belief because you can build anything you want.
Your success is waiting for you!
