The Truth About Entrepreneurship

A couple of Fridays ago, I wanted to give it all up.

The weight of being responsible for my team, my clients’ businesses, and AK/VA’s growth came crashing over me like a tidal wave.

So I broke down.

I screamed and cried for about an hour.

I sat in the weight of frustration and fear.

And when the panic attack (eventually) subsided and my heart rate had come down, I reminded myself that the hard days are a part of the journey.

I reminded myself that all the stuff that had gone wrong was nothing compared to my resilience or my desire to build the business I have always dreamt of.

It’s easy to think being an entrepreneur is “easy”. Especially when we look at social media and see all these amazingly successful people taking long weekends, sipping champagne at 3pm on a Wednesday, and working 2 days a week. But that doesn’t mean that every single day is easy. As you can see from my face…entrepreneurship is not always the sunshine, rainbows, and pots of gold you see highlighted on your news feed.

It’s raw and painful. It’s days like the one I had.

But it’s also and beautiful and incredible.

And that’s all the beauty of it!

When the hard days hit, you’re not alone, and it’s safe to move through them at the pace and depth that you need to.
