3 Things Great Leaders Do To Help Their Business Flourish
In order to have a business and team that truly flourishes and gets consistent results, you have to be a great leader. However, making a lot of money or signing a certain number of clients is not what defines a great leader. A great leader is defined by their willingness to ASK for feedback, their receptiveness to the feedback, the steps they take to make the changes necessary for everyone to flourish, and the actions they take to ensure their team and business is set up for success and support.
Here are 3 things that great leaders do to help their business flourish.
#1: Leaders strive to continually improve communications, processes, and systems with their team and clients.
Great leaders do not get stuck in the rut of doing things the way they’ve always done them. Great leaders are always open to new ideas and feedback and look for ways in which they can grow, evolve, and change in order to make the business and team run more effectively and efficiently.
They have their team and clients’ best interest in mind and use that knowledge to improve communications, processes, and systems so that everyone thrives and has what they need to get the job done right.
#2: Leaders desire to know how they can better support their team.
Great leaders have a strong desire to connect with their team and better understand how they can support them in their roles. Every year, I send out an anonymous team audit. This is an opportunity for my team to share what they think can be improved in the coming year. By making it anonymous, I believe people feel more empowered to speak candidly and not hold back.
I do this because I care about how my team feels in the work environment we've created. I want them to thrive, grow, and continue with AK/VA for many years to come. As a leader, it's my job to make sure they feel seen, heard, and supported.
It's our responsibility as leaders to ask questions and receive feedback with open arms. This provides us with an opportunity to improve our processes, our systems, our communication, and our work environment. By doing so, we allow our team to flourish and succeed, which in turn, allows our business to flourish and suceed as well.
#3: Leaders are constantly looking to find what motivates and inspires their team.
A great leader understands that everyone works differently and has different motivations and things that inspire them. Taking time to get to know and connect with your team will help you understand how they work, what their goals are, what inspires them, and what makes them tick.
This will help guide you as you assign projects to them and build out systems and processes. By giving your teammates work that inspires them and allowing them to work in a way that is most productive for them and supports their creativity is the key to delivering high quality work to your clients (and to keep them coming back for more and referring you to their friends, too!).
