Drowning Out The Social Media Noise

The noise is deafening on social media, isn’t it?

“Post at least 7-10 stories a day.”

"Post a reel a day.”

”Post hashtags in the first comment.”

“No! Post them in the caption.”

“Consistently post seven days a week.”

My god. Um, does someone at Facebook/IG want to start releasing a weekly guideline cheat sheet of what we MUST be doing? Because trying to keep up is a full-time job!

My Golden Rule

This will shock absolutely nobody but the most common question clients ask Social Media service providers is this:

“What should I be posting, when, and where?”

Here’s the golden answer:

Post what resonates with you, speaks to your audience and provides you with a container where you can show up authentically, vulnerably and honestly.

And most importantly, connect.

Form true relationships, give a shit about what people are posting, provide value, and build trust through your truth.

Crack wide open and let them see you. I mean, REALLY see you. The tears, the smiles, the struggles, the triumphs, and the human behind the brand.

Here’s the honest-to-god truth:

People buy from people.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again and again.

We want to see your cute kids, your late nights munching on Doritos and finalizing your opt-in at midnight, your amazing girl gang, your newest offering, your biggest month in business, and your mounting stress.

Vulnerability fosters trusted connections. Connections build successful businesses.

Be Authentically You

So just show up.

Show up through the wins and the struggles.

Show up in vulnerability and celebrations.

Show up consistently.

Show up by providing value.

Show up owning and selling your products/services.

When we consistently show up with integrity, we attract our ideal clients, and they convert.

Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.”

It’s cliché for a reason.

So today, I challenge you to stop worrying about when, where or what you should be posting and just show up. Show up in the heavy, in the celebratory and in your authenticity.

Because that is the most beautiful way you do you!
