How to Lead with Integrity in Your Business
As a business owner, there are a ton of characteristics you must embody. Drive, ambition, passion, heart, and resiliency are just a few, and the list goes on. In order to truly run a successful business and make an impact, the one characteristic you must embody is integrity.
Leading with integrity means being transparent about your business.
As a leader, it’s important that you share the REAL behind your business. This includes the highs, victories, vacations, and top-dollar clients AND the lows, struggles, hard work, and baby steps along the way.
When you lead from a place of integrity and authenticity, your prospective clients will lean into that energy and vice-versa. If you keep painting a false narrative for the sake of sales, they'll see that too.
The energy you put out is the energy you will receive.
If you’re ready to call in clients full of integrity and authenticity, you have to embody that energy first. You have to lead with integrity in your business to bring more of that into your life.
What Integrity does NOT look like.
I see it a lot in the online space, entrepreneurs skewing reality in order to glamorize their offers and make more sales. Honestly, this drives me crazy and makes me sad at the same time.
Integrity does not look like:
Coaching and encouraging people to hit a milestone that YOU have not hit.
Not walking the walk. Preaching practices that you don't actually implement in your business.
Not being transparent in how you run your business.
Disrespecting your team's boundaries for the sake of your clients.
Here's an example of what I mean:
An entrepreneur saying, "Here's how I hit my first 7-figures," or "Here's how I made 60K in cash," and yet, they're thousands of dollars in debt and unable to pay their teams.
Integrity = honesty and transparency.
