What It Really Takes To Become a Booked-Out Virtual Assistant

Ashley Kay Smiling Outside

Have you ever had one of those days where you sit down with your good friend Google and ask, “how do I become a booked-out virtual assistant?”

You know those moments.

The ones where you’re desperate for change, for something new. Those moments where you want to throw in the corporate towel and start living life on your own terms.

Becoming a virtual assistant is truly one of the best ways to scale your income, work your own flexible hours, and make a major impact.

But I’m gonna be real with you… it takes work to become a booked-out virtual assistant.

Success won’t come flocking to you overnight.

However, if you go all-in, if you put your full ass into it, if you deliver above and beyond for your clients every time… you will find success.

So often people think that to be successful in the virtual assistant space, they need a fancy website, the perfect branding, or yet another course to teach them how to succeed.

(Spoiler Alert: Those things aren’t the key to creating a booked-out virtual assistant business.)

Full transparency, I didn’t scale my business so quickly because I was perfectly put together, had every skill nailed down, the perfect pipeline for attracting clients, or even all the systems in place at first.

What I did have was way better… resourcefulness and resilience.

Resourcefulness and resilience are the real keys to becoming a booked-out virtual assistant.

I believe that being resourceful is one of the most important things you can be for your business.

No, this doesn’t mean I’m winging it or that I don’t have a clear vision, because friend,  my vision has always been crystal clear.

Resourceful means…

Taking the initiative to learn. Rather than turning down work I didn’t know how to do, I either learned how to do it or I delegated it to a kick-ass freelancer who could help me.

Being a step ahead. For every new client I had, I would develop SOPs to help me document what worked and what didn’t work, so I could use that information to lead me again and again.

CARING about your people. Do I want to land more clients? Yes, but the reason I was able to scale was that I didn’t just support them for a moment and then move on to another client. I took care of the clients I had and provided them with high-level support that made their businesses better. And then they told people about me.

The gold is in full-assing it.

The bottom line is: When you are resourceful and resilient, you know how to problem-solve and you never give up.

You don’t stop short of the goal when it gets hard. You keep pushing, keep researching and testing, and you find a way. You don’t take no for an answer, either for yourself or for what’s possible for you in your business.
