Rethinking the Holiday Hustle

Ashley and Jake

Truth bomb: The holidays aren’t meant for hustle.

For so many people, this is the busiest time of the year.

Between year-end business tasks, reflections, planning for the new year, wrapping gifts, holiday parties, and trying to be present with the people you love most, it can feel like you’re on a constant hamster hustle wheel.

But the holidays are not meant for hustle.

When the whole world is rushing around and filling every moment of their day juggling their endless to-do lists, it can feel like you have to operate in the same mentality.

And I want to challenge this. Maybe they are busy, but you don’t have to be.

Too often, we wrap up an entire year and before we even take the time to reflect on and process all we’ve done and all that has happened. Then we become inundated with more holiday plans, more expenses, and more hustle as we head into the new year.

And then our so-called holiday break becomes the busiest, most stressful season of all and before we know it, we’ve missed out on the joy and relaxation of this season. All because we were too busy worrying about setting up our schedules for the new year, checking out new trendy business tools, and answering emails.

So this holiday season, how about we slow down instead of speed up?

  • Take back your power by muting all of your apps.

  • Get more sleep.

  • Drink more water.

  • Move your body.

  • Be present when it matters most.  ⠀

Just simply “be.”

Sometimes you have to take a step back to be able to take a successful step forward, and I think that is what this month should be all about.

You don’t have to be everything for everyone right now. You need the space to reset, to create, to design, and to nourish so that you can flourish. Come on, you fucking deserve it.

And I’ll be doing it right alongside you. To create this space for my business, I'm actually closing AKVA for the holiday season so I can make sure that my team and I get the time to rest and recharge that we deserve.

This is how I can make sure I show up as my best self for my clients, for my family, for my friends, and for my community. And the same goes for my team. ⠀

Remember this: There is no shame in pausing and resting.

Because when we return in the new year, we’ll have a newfound energy and passion for our business, all because we took time away from our business.

I’ll be refreshed and ready to help you grow your business every step of the way in my next Scale to Success Mini-Mind cohort, starting in January. Registration is now OPEN!
