Everything Is Figure-Outable

When starting a virtual assistant business, it can be overwhelming and exciting, all at the same time. However, don’t let the overwhelm of all the shiny objects keep you from taking action on your dreams. Read on to learn why everything is figure-outable as a business owner and how to keep moving forward and steer clear of analysis paralysis.

What You DON’T Need To Start A Successful Business

So often, business owners get started and think they need to jump right into building a fancy website, getting the perfect branding nailed down, and investing in all of the programs and softwares at once. I’m here to tell you, you don’t need any of that to build a booked-out virtual assistant business!

I didn’t scale my business so quickly because I was perfectly put together, had every skill nailed down, had the perfect pipeline for attracting clients, or even all the systems in place at first.

In the beginning, that’s just not all possible! And honestly, it’s not necessary yet, because those beginning stages are all about building relationships, attracting aligned clients, and serving them well!

What You DO Need To Start A Successful Business

When starting out as a virtual assistant, there are two things you need in order to succeed, and they’re better than any website, branding, or software: resourcefulness and resilience.

Being resourceful is one of the most important things we can be for our businesses. No, this doesn’t mean winging it or not having a clear vision.

Being Resourceful Is All About

  • Taking the initiative to learn. It means taking on work we're not 100% sure how to do instead of turning it down. It means either learning how to do it or delegating it to a kick-ass freelancer to help you.

  • It means being a step ahead. For every new client I had, I would develop SOPs to help me document what worked and what didn’t work so I could use that information to lead me again and again.

  • It means caring about our people. Do I want to land more clients? Yes, but the reason I was able to scale was that I didn’t just support them for a moment and then move on to another client. I cared for my clients and provided them with high-level support that improved their businesses. And then they told people about me.

When you put your full ass into your business, you will reap the rewards.

The bottom line is: When we're resourceful and resilient, we know how to problem-solve and learn how to never give up. We don't stop short of the goal when shit gets hard. We keep pushing, researching, testing, and we find a way. Most importantly, we definitely don’t take no for an answer.

No matter what gets thrown your way, remember, everything is figure-outable! Don’t let fear or uncertainty stop you in your tracks. Keep moving forward with resilience and resourcefulness every single day.
